Der Golem – National Theatre Mannheim

Pernath’s life is bursting out the seams: he is trapped in intrigues, suffers from hallucinations and is part of spiritual cases. He meets junk dealer Wassertrum who is actually very rich and rules over the ghetto. Charousek, the illegimate and outcast son of the junk dealer follows his father until death. This heavy atmosphere brings Pernath alleviation in the company of Rabbi Hillel and his daughter Mirjam. And meets a surrealistic creature – the Golem. From this card of an old tarot game come a figure which shows itself as his double.
